Connect to Recycling is an Electronic Recycling Clearinghouse that provides local governments, institutions, and businesses with access to electronic recyclers to ensure proper recycling of residential and business electronics in anticipation of the 2012 landfill ban on electronics. To help Illinois realize its goal of recycling more than 32 million pounds of Electronic, this website provides a tool kit for residential recyclers to increase awareness of opportunities to recycle and the importance of recycling.

The Electronic Recycling Clearinghouse is the product of a partnership between the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus and Illinois Recycling Association with the long term goal of providing access to high quality electronic recycling to all Illinoisans and to promote the use of Illinois based recycling businesses to promote economic development and the growth of green collar jobs.

Seed money to establish the Clearinghouse has been provided by the United States Environmental Protection Agency through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, and would not be possible without the generous support of Creative Recycling Systems, Inc., Vintage Tech Recyclers, and MPC.
